Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms apply when you access or use Verid-Beacon. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2. What the service provides

Verid-Beacon provides tools to check website availability and response times, inspect certain publicly observable security and DNS signals, save project tests, view private aggregate User Analytics when eligible, and generate Synexis Insights reports from supplied evidence. Features may change as the product develops. A check covers only the tests actually performed and evidence shown; it is not a complete security audit, penetration test, compliance assessment, or guarantee of availability.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for providing an email address you can access, keeping your account secure, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. Google and GitHub sign-in are subject to their respective provider terms. Do not share passwords, recovery links, OAuth tokens, or other credentials. You are responsible for actions taken through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.

4. Authorized testing and acceptable use

You may submit only websites and systems that you own or have explicit permission to test. You are responsible for obtaining that permission and for complying with applicable law, contracts, and the target operator’s rules.

You must not use Verid-Beacon to:

• access, scan, probe, or disrupt a system without authorization, or evade rate limits or access controls;
• conduct denial-of-service activity, exploit attempts, credential attacks, or other harmful activity;
• submit malware, unlawful content, personal information you lack authority to share, or secrets such as passwords and API keys;
• interfere with the service, circumvent safeguards, or use it in a way that violates law or another person’s rights.

We may limit, suspend, or end access if we reasonably believe an account is creating a security, legal, or operational risk.

5. Checks and AI-generated reports

Measurements reflect conditions at the time a check ran and may be incomplete or affected by networks, target changes, or third-party systems. AI-generated text can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Review the underlying evidence and independently verify important findings before acting. Reports are informational only and do not replace professional security, legal, or compliance advice. User Analytics reports aggregates; active-user counts are estimates based on opted-in sessions observed within the last five minutes.

6. Your content and service rights

You retain rights you have in the URLs, test evidence, and other material you submit. You give Verid-Beacon permission to process that material only as needed to operate, secure, and provide the features you request, including generating and storing reports. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it.

Verid-Beacon and its licensors retain rights in the service, branding, software, and design. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you.

7. Third-party services

The service depends on third parties for authentication, database infrastructure, and optional AI report generation. Their services can be unavailable or subject to separate terms. When you request a Synexis Insights report, the submitted target and evidence are sent to OpenAI’s API. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

8. Availability, changes, and fees

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free results, or that every feature will remain available. We may change, pause, or discontinue features to maintain or improve the service. Prices, trial duration, billing schedule, and cancellation terms will be shown before any purchase or recurring payment is authorized. Checkout is currently unavailable, so no payment or trial can be started from the app.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms. Nothing here excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Verid-Beacon is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, business interruption, loss of data, or decisions made solely from a check or generated report. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. To request closure and deletion of your account data, contact us using the email below. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach, a security risk, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature need to continue will survive termination.

11. Changes and applicable rights

We may update these Terms when the service or legal requirements change. Where reasonably practical, we will give notice of material changes. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.

These Terms do not remove mandatory consumer or privacy rights that apply where you live. Any dispute process or governing-law rule is subject to those non-waivable local protections.
